Who we are
Credibility & Recognition
Independence is a claim anyone can make. These are the outside sources that back ours up.
What the ratings mean
We do not pay for these ratings and we do not influence them. Both organizations review sources on their own schedule and publish their methods.
Media Bias/Fact Check rates outlets on two scales, political bias and factual accuracy. "Least Biased" is its most neutral rating, for sources with minimal partisan lean in wording and story selection. "High" factual reporting means articles are well sourced and errors are corrected. Together they earn IVN its High Credibility rating. AllSides rates bias using blind surveys of readers from across the political spectrum, editorial reviews, and independent research. A "Center" rating means readers on the left and the right both see IVN as balanced.
